Mardi Gras Dinner

St. Michaels and All Angels Church will host the third annual Mardi Gras Katrina Relief Benefit Dinner on Saturday, February 2 beginning at 5pm. Dinner will include a hot crab seafood gumbo, salad, and bread. Dessert will be the famous New Orleans treat, beignets and cafe au lait. Foot-tapping, authentic live New Orleans jazz and ragtime will be provided by Le Roux Hot. A silent auction with fabulous items will cap off the evening. Tickets are available at Harvest Market and Tangents in Fort Bragg and Out of This World in Mendocino. For more info call 964-1900.

Mendocino Women's Choir at Cotton Auditorium

This Sunday, January 20, 2008, at 3 p.m., in honor of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., the Mendocino Women's Choir will perform at Cotton Auditorium. The Mendocino Women's Choir has performed at Carnegie Hall and throughout Northern California. Belvie Rooks, writer, educator, producer,and civil rights activist will speak about Dr. King's commitment to youth. Judge Jonathan Lehan will speak about our juvenile justice system. The trio, River (Cynthia Frank, Sharon Hansen, and Sari Scanlon), will entertain the audience with freedom songs. The concert will benefit the Mendocino County Teen Peer Court. Tickets, ($15 adult, $10 for students and seniors) are available at Harvest Market, Tangents, Out of This World and Big Brothers Big Sisters office. Mark Twain & The Laughing River

Arena Theater will bring a memorable and light-hearted evening of entertainment to The Mendocno Coast with the legendary Jim Post's creation of Mark Twain and the Laughing River. Post will be on stage for one show only, Saturday February 9 at 7:30pm.
