June 30, 2007 Yard Sale in Elk this Weekend! Elk Altar Society It's that time of year again, and we are having a Yard Sale in Elk this weekend! WHERE - The Blessed Sacrament Church, at the north end of town WHEN- Saturday and Sunday, June 30th and July 1st from 10:am to 4:pm We have lots of great treasures including; furniture, clothes, books, guy stuff, dishes, pots and pans, exercise equipment, miscellaneous goods and much more. We also offer our traditional, hot dogs, Polish sausage (with or without chili) and soft drinks at a reasonable cost. We hope to see a you all there! June 24, 2007 Bluesiana Bar-B-Que June 30 Carrie Lanyon, Staff The Gualala Arts Culinary Guild is going to make it easy to get a great dinner before the June 30 Maria Muldaur concert. They are offering a Bluesiana Bar-B- Que in the picnic area of Gualala Arts Center at 6 p.m. Not only will you get great food, but everyone who buys the $10 dinner tickets in advance also gets to save their seats early for the 7:30 concert. June 17, 2007 Roller Disco Fundraiser Carrie Lanyon, Staff Come to Skate City at 2146 SA. State St. in Ukiah on June 20th from 7-10pm and get a little exercise at this fundraising event to help the underinsured of Mendocino and Sonoma counties. Organized by AmeriCorps volunteers in coordination with the Alliance for Rural Community Health, the event will bring a smile to the face of those who remember polyester’s heyday, Ditto jeans, skating to “Disco Duck” or the Village People, feathered hair, Puka shell necklaces and satin bomber jackets. Even those youngsters fortunate enough to be born at a later date can’t help but enjoy the infectious sounds of disco and that childlike glee found in rollerskating. Fondue and other classic 70’s snacks will be served. Numerous door prizes, including a large number of gift certificates, will be handed out and a “Wine and Wellness” silent auction will take place. Dress retro in your favorite 70’s outfit because a prize for the most authentic and outrageous will be awarded at 9pm. All proceeds will go to creating an angel fund to assist those with inadequate medical insurance, but with urgent medical needs. TO 9:00 P.M. at Rick's Restaurant, Hill House Inn. Dine on abalone, soup, salad, rice, fresh bread, dessert and local wine. Dance to the music of Kevin and the Coconuts.
